Learning to swim takes time and consistency. Committing to the full 12 weeks allows you to build skills, confidence, and routine. Regular attendance also ensures that all places are used effectively for those ready to learn.
Many of our participants have experienced fear or trauma related to water. Our instructors use gentle, trauma-informed approaches to help you feel calm and supported at every step.
A Splash of Colour Swimming is designed for adults from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who want to learn to swim or build confidence in the water.
Cultural and linguistic diversity is generally understood as a person who identifies with a culture or religion that is not predominantly represented in Australian society or speaks a language other than English at home.
Our program is for adults aged 18 years and over.
At this stage, we are not accepting children or teenagers under 18.

Where possible, we partner with aquatic centres that provide exclusive or low-visibility lanes for our sessions. We work closely with each venue to maintain comfort, safety, and respect for all participants.
Yes. All our Welcome to Swimming lessons are held in shallow water. For your safety, please follow the instructions of your swimming instructors.
Most of our swimming lessons take place in indoor, heated pools, providing a comfortable and safe learning environment throughout the year.
In some locations, lessons may be held in outdoor pools, where the water can be slightly cooler. This is a normal part of swimming, and with time, your body will gradually adjust to the temperature.
Our instructors will always ensure you feel supported and can take things at your own pace.
Please let us know if you will need a translator OR if you plan to bring a translator with you.
Our learn to swim program runs for 12 weeks. We provide exact dates to confirmed participants.
